History

The page that lists all the versions of a given page

The History page is accessible from the top and bottom banner of each page. It lists all the available versions of the page being displayed, in reverse chronological order. Some versions may not be available because the site administator has decided to remove them, e.g. to save disk space.

For each version, the title of the page is a link to that version of the page. If you click on that link and then click "Edit", you get the editing form of the current version of the page with the text of the former version. So if you then hit "Save", you create a new version of the page with the contentof the old version. This is useful to restore a previous version after having made a mistake.

The history page also lists the author of each version. Clicking on the author takes you to the author's Wiki page, if it exists (otherwise you get the page creation form). See the page on authors for more detail.
