How to create new pages

To create a new page, you must first edit an existing page and add a link to the new page. The text you specify in the link will be the title of the new page (see the page titles for more detail).

For example, try to insert a line such as

   Check out [[my cool page]].
in the test page. Then click on the link my cool page and a page creation form appears. This method has the advantage that the new page will be referenced from an existing page. Otherwise the new page would be inaccessible (except from the site map and recent changes) and therefore not very useful. Of course, you can always make the new page inaccessible by removing the link from the pages that reference it. The Wiki netiquette (see social protocols) says that you shouldn't do that unless the page has become useless.

The page creation form is the same as the page edition form:

The buttons below the form are:

Advanced

The page creation form has a Page type menu next to the "Cancel" button. This menu sets the page type. Normally it should be set to "Wiki", which corresponds to standard wiki pages. The other types are used to upload files (e.g. images) into the server. Note that if you select an entry in this menu, the page creation form is replaced by a new one, loosing any data you may have already entered in the other fields. Please refer to the upload page for additional information on how to create non-wiki pages.
